But, Glendon is hoping to square it all up when the two combatants lock horns in the Singleton District Cricket Association first grade grand final at Howe Park this weekend.
The long-time rivals will meet for the fourth consecutive time in a decider on Saturday.
“Even though we’re going for our third straight title, I think this match will be closer than last year,” Creeks skipper Steve Unicomb said.
“It’s been a good competition in 2014-15.
“And, while we dropped a couple of games throughout the season, we were still minor premiers.
“Our best has been very good.”
The leader of the Austin Engineering-sponsored outfit even admitted the toss “could play a big part” in the outcome.
“If we bat first, we’ll need to post a big total and put the pressure on them,” he said.
“However, I’m confident – we boast eight batsmen capable of scoring runs, and eight bowlers capable of taking wickets.
“It’s a well-balanced side.”
Unicomb rates his Glendon counterpart Anthony Bailey, as well as Max Hillier, Greg and Alex Thrift, as the danger men in their quest for the trifecta.
“We have to forget about last year’s result,” the captain of the Agricultural Hotel-sponsored squad chipped in.
“The teams have a nice rivalry – we won the first grand final before losing the next two.
“It would be nice to level it up.”
Bailey said it was important Glendon took the opportunities “when they come”.
“They’re a quality side, everyone is dangerous,” he said.
“So, we need all the guys to play to their ability – and as a unit.
“We’re taking a lot of confidence into this encounter, which is a good sign.
“I’d also like to wish our third grade side all the best in their match.”
