Both guys have represented the Tongan under-20 national side and caught the eyes of Singleton when they played with a touring team at the Lake Macquarie Sevens earlier in the year.
It hasn’t taken them long to make an impact with the imports scoring a try each in their debut game, which the Bulls lost 60-27 against Nelson Bay.
Bulls club captain Jacob Reid said the duo has shown skills and confidence with the ball in hand and inspired those around them to play better.
“They were great in a losing side, the team played well in patches but didn’t stick to our structured game plan,” he said.
Manu, 22, and Kamoto, 19, still have plenty of good rugby years ahead of them and their sevens smarts will help them exploit other teams on the counter attack.
“We feel at home because the club has made us feel welcome,” Manu said.
“We can get better.”
It’s hoped the two mobile forwards will stay with the club for more than the current season.
And, they are feeling fit and ready for this weekend’s clash against Lake Macquarie.
Manu has showed versatility in his first game playing at outside centre instead of his favoured position as flanker, which he returns to against the Lake, while Kamoto shines in the second-row.
Back in Tonga, the guys were noticed playing for their village side Toakomaafu.
The Bulls are at home this weekend and play again at Rugby Park next Thursday and Friday nights.
In other results over the weekend, the second grade won 40-26, colts lost 31-0 and third grade were beaten 31-12.
Tomorrow, first grade kicks off at 3pm, second grade 1.40pm, colts 12.20pm and third grade 11.10am.
