The event in Singleton is over and water is receding in rural areas including Wollombi Brook and water levels are steady in the Hunter River at Singleton. Council has started prioritising repair works focusing on providing temporary access pending permanent repairs. Regular road closure will be posted on Council’s website as repairs are undertaken. A
The following Statement includes Impact and Damage to Public Infrastructure for both roads (1) and other infrastructure (2):
The following impact and damage’s on public infrastructure (roads only) is reported as per time above:
PUTTY ROAD – BULGA – OPEN – Water over half a lane near bridge. Exercise caution.
STANDEN DRIVE – Past Kirkton School – OPEN
BLAXLAND ROAD – BROKE – OPEN – Minor clean up still required.
WOLLOMBI ROAD – CESSNOCK ROAD INTERSECTION – OPEN – Clean up required.
CRANKY CORNER ROAD – SOUTH – CLOSED – bridge approaches have washed away and traffic cannot get through – Closed until further notice. Temporary repairs are being done today to provide temporary access pending permanent repairs.
WOLLOMBI ROAD – ENTIRE LENGTH – Will be inspected today 24/04/2015
HUNTER RIVER – SINGLETON – BOM website stated at 6:15am that the River level was at 9.32 and steady.
GOORANGOOLA ROAD – OPEN – Resident advises that Double Crossing and Causeway after school both have water. Proceed with caution.
GRESFORD ROAD – CLOSED at GLENDON BROOK BRIDGE – Gresford Road has been damaged between unnamed bridge and T intersection with Gresford/Elderslie Road. The approaches to the bridge have been washed away. Permanent Concrete Barriers have been installed to stop traffic going through the bridge. This road is closed until further notice. The road is unlikely to be open within the next few days.
Roads in rural areas will be closed from time to time. Please do not drive through flood waters. Road users are requested to exercise caution while using Council roads. If you intend to travel on rural roads, please check statuses of roads and causeways prior to journeying through responsible government agencies.
The following were updates from 23 April 2015 at 3:00pm and have not yet been inspected/updated. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
LAMBS VALLEY ROAD – BRIDGE DAMAGE – inspection of this bridge has occurred. Bridge is passable but only one lane is open. Exercise extreme caution.
CRANKY CORNER ROAD – CLOSED – Residents advised that 2-3km from Stanhope Intersection – the bridge is not passable – large washout/pothole also on Cranky Corner Road - Barricades have been placed by residents along the road. Mudslide reported on Cranky Corner Road approximately 1km past the last cattle grid near Bimbadeen Road. Approximately 2 meters of mud across the road. Council crews yet to access the area.
WOLLOMBI ROAD - PAYNES CROSSING – CLOSED – Water over road and flooding.
GRIFFITHS CROSSING – MITCHELL FLAT ROAD – CLOSED – Water over road and flash flooding in the area
LAMBS VALLEY – Accessible in areas – No access to Luskintyre or Maitland
LUSKINTYRE ROAD and MAITLAND VALE ROAD INTERSECTION – KILFOYLES CAUSEWAY - CLOSED – Water Over Road – Clean-up will be required once water recedes

McMULLINS ROAD, 200m South of Summerhill Road – CLOSED - road has washed away leaving a 1500mm drop – One Lane Access - Local Traffic Only
332 STANDEN DRIVE LOWER BELFORD – OPEN – Temporary traffic facilities are in place. Only one lane is trafficable. Exercise caution
CAUSEWAY near 603 DYRRING ROAD – CLOSED – Water beyond 1 meters deep – No access
BIMBADEEN ROAD – CLOSED – Residents have advised a mudslide has occurred and the road in not passable.
OLD CARROWBROOK ROAD – GLENNIES CREEK CAUSEWAY – CLOSED - Water over road and flash flooding in the area
GEARYS CROSSING ROAD – GLENNIES CREEK CAUSEWAY – CLOSED - Water over road and flash flooding in the area
STANDEN DRIVE – JUMP UP CREEK CAUSEWAY – CLOSED - Water over road and flash flooding in the area
MOSES CROSSING – CLOSED – Deep water over crossing.
ROBINSON ROAD, HUNTER HIGHLANDS – CLOSED - bridge entering the estate is not trafficable.
