For every coffee purchased, the Singleton Square business will donate a $1 from that purchase and then double it by the close of the day.
“To train a guide dog costs $20,000 but every little bit helps and this is how we like to give back,” Coal Rock owner Donna Valentine said.
Ms Valentine was approached by Guide Dogs to be part of their campaign and jumped at the opportunity to raise awareness to end discrimination against Guide Dogs and their owners.
“We have a regular customer who has a guide dog with her and I’m very disgusted when I learn that some businesses won’t let guide dogs into their stores,” she said.
“They’re only doing their job and are very still and well-trained.”
The café will also have a gold coin guessing competition, starting today in their shop; with the closest receiving a $50 voucher at Coal Rock.
Last week the business hosted the same fundraiser for the State Emergency Service (SES) and succeeded in raising close to $500.
