The prize: the Annual Anzac Shield.
“It’s a traditional event, which is sponsored by the Singleton RSL Bowling Club,” Peter Maher said.
“And, more than $1000 was up for grabs.
“We had eight teams in action, making up 24 players.
“A few blokes from neighbouring Club Singleton also participated.
“It’s a great tournament, with mateship the big winner.”
From a scoreboard perspective, it was the hot line-up of Nathan Allen, Brad Bailey and Rohan Dennis, who reaped the spoils.
“Brad [Bailey] only plays once a year, so that wasn’t a bad result for him,” Maher said.
“Nathan [Allen] and Rohan have both played for RSL in the past.
“I don’t think people will begrudge them from winning,” he added with a laugh.
