WHAT education/qualifications does your business need?
TAFE is investigating the opportunity of partnering with the University of Southern Queensland to deliver diploma or degree qualifications in the Upper Hunter.
This means that local businesses can up-skill existing workers as well as provide local opportunities for young people.
The university has expressed a particular interest in the industry areas of engineering and mining, nursing, viticulture, business, tourism and regional studies and more broadly international student delivery.
Hunter TAFE is hosting a regional consultation forum to gain the views of selected representatives from the Upper Hunter for these potential delivery options and their relevance and viability in this community and it’s associated industries.
This is an invitation only event but Singleton Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been invited to be involved.
Chamber is now asking for information from local businesses.
• What higher education training needs does your business require?
• Diploma or degree?
• What will be the best system to make it work for your business: block release, online, night classes or a combination of all three?
For any further queries call or email chamber secretary Gill Eason at info@singletonchamber.org.au, 0400460412 or call TAFE – Debbie Laarkamp on 02 4923 7655.
The forum is being held on Friday, September 14 at Muswellbrook TAFE so the information is needed as soon as possible.
Mrs Eason said this opened up many opportunities for businesses and school leavers and she hoped for strong input.
