Tim Ryan, Mick Taylor, Mitchell Cox, Ben Couling, Jeremy Dunn, Jack Roberts and Will Partridge were selected in the team, which travelled to Armidale where they overcame Illawarra 12-5 in the grand final.
The tournament was highlighted by the Hunter team’s dominance of many of its opponents.
The Bulls-led side scored 192 points in five games and only had three tries posted against them.
Most rewarding for the team was the fact it was a reverse of last year’s 12-7 defeat in the decider, against the same rival, Illawarra.
Ryan was also named the forwards’ player of the year, for his efforts during the weekend.
In two weeks’ time, the Hunter team travels to Sydney for the State Championships where they will face the strong metropolitan line-ups and sides from the ACT.
Coach Anthony Partridge said it would be a big challenge but they were hoping to make it out of the pool stages after winning three and losing three last year.
“The kids can’t wait to have a crack at the Sydney teams and are ready to test themselves,” he said.
“Their success is a reward for all their hard work and it’s just continuing on from last year when they won the premiership as the under-12 Bulls.”
