With the greens rolling at a much faster pace than normal many players are still being caught out.
Club captain Mark Newman fired the day’s equal best score of 37 points to win A grade.
Two bogies on the par fives on the back nine that sandwiched a birdie on the difficult 13th stopped the scorecard from being exceptional.
He continues his steady form and a handicap reduction is on the cards.
International traveller of the year Luke Price took out second place with his 36 points.
A countback was applied to find the B grade winner.
One of our club’s most powerful swingers, Adam Egas, was the lucky player with a score of 37.
Brad Gardiner also returned 37 points and took away the runners up prize.
It almost felt like the Monday Veterans competition in C grade.
Vets coordinator Rick Walters took out that grade with 35 points from another Vets regular Bob Clarke with 34.
The secret 9 competition was also taken out by Walters while the next three places went to Egas, Brett Stokes and Gardiner.
All players scored 19 points.
This Saturday’s tournament is the Singleton Smash Repairs Monthly Mug.
This is one of the club’s highlight Mugs and will have very strong support.
