Hamilton is coming off its first loss of the season and will be looking to bounce back with a comprehensive win against last-placed Bulls.
Singleton, however, will be fresh after having the bye last week; with only the lower grades facing up against Lake Macquarie.
In the Bulls’ latest first grade start, the boys stuck it to Merewether only with the Slime snagging a few late tries.
With Merewether beating Hamilton last week, this game may be closer than the competition ladder suggests.
Third grade had a strong victory against Lake Macquarie but are lacking numbers for Saturday’s fixture – and will be facing up against a very solid Hamilton side.
The seconds also tackled Lake Macquarie.
They’re hoping to at least be competitive against the Hawks after a disappointing loss last week.
Crowd favourite Charles Sneddon appears to be packing in at the back of the scrum.
While he may only weigh 48kg with a pocket full of rocks, he always delivers with the biggest hits of the day.
He’ll be looking to showcase his technique and put on a master class once again this weekend.
The forwards will have to control the ball if the boys are going to match it with the Hawks.
And, in order to do so, will have work harder than Paul Magyars’ jumper does keeping the rig in check.
Mitchell Tanner is still pretending that he is a five-eighth and will be looking forward to the warm up so that he can give the mouth a good stretch out.
He has been solid in defence but lacks the spark that other pivots in the club seem to just naturally have.
After this spray, Bullseye hopes Tanner can prove the critics wrong and have a big game this weekend.
First grade is taking on a red-hot Hamilton team who is probably favourites to take out the competition.
The Bulls have been improving each week and it will be interesting to see how far they’ve come this season in this weekend’s game.
Hopefully, Singleton can put it to the competition leaders.
The primary goal for 2015 was to rebuild and improve for the years ahead – and this has certainly been showing in first grade.
With close encounters against good teams and a great attitude to improvement, Singleton will showcase their improvement on Saturday – and reduce the gap differential that was evident when these sides met in round one.
