Disco dancing that is, and the funds raised at the event will go toward the swimming sensation travelling to the 2015 INAS Global Games.
This is the world’s largest elite sporting event for athletes with an intellectual disability, featuring competition in athletics, swimming, table tennis, rowing, basketball, futsal, tennis and cycling.
It is the first time he has been selected to represent Australia – and he currently holds the national record for the S14 division.
A junior and a senior disco will be held this Saturday night at the Singleton Heights Indoor Sports Centre.
Darcy’s dad, Peter Gilson, says it will be fully-supervised and refreshments will be available.
“We have a lucky door prize and will be selling glow sticks,” he says.
“Come down and just have a good time.”
The session for primary school students starts at 5pm till 7pm; and 7.15pm to 10pm for high school students.
At just $5, it is sure to be a great night and help the champion swimmer take it to the next level.
