While a big crowd attended the canine celebration, 10 local businesses and charities also manned stalls on the day.
Heights Pet Hospital administered free micro-chipping and coordinated the doggie races.
“We had an absolute ball – loved meeting new fur-friends and seeing the community together,” veterinary nurse Stephanie Bluff said.
“We love the new dog park and will encourage all our clients to use it for socialising and meeting new friends.”
Singleton Veterinary Hospital offered free dental health checks on the day to promote healthy teeth and gums for Pet Dental Health Month.
“We had an amazing day and probably checked the gums and teeth of more than 100 dogs and the kids had a lot of fun meeting our Big Hills Pet Nutrition Dog,” practice manager Cindy Bailey said.
Competition prizes went out to Trevor Bates and his German Shepherd Gracie for the good dog best trick competition, sponsored by Hunter Pet Motel.
First place in the best dressed category went to Stephanie Bluff and her dog Sherlock, the miniature Schnauzer, who was very fittingly dressed as Sherlock Holmes.
