Run by volunteers, the business spends what it needs on overheads and the rest goes straight back to important not-for-profit organisations in town.
On Wednesday seven organisations received $6500 each while the Singleton Hospital received a new mobile reclining chair valued at $3300.
“I’d like to thank the public so much without their kind donations of clothing items to the Op Shop,” Singleton Op Shop president Robyn Bendeich said at small cheque presentation on Wednesday
“We wouldn’t be able to give back to the community if weren’t for them.”
The organisations that received a cheque where the Mercy Nursing Home, Singleton Cancer Assist, Pallative Care Singleton/ Cessnock, Uniting Care, Calvary Cooinda, the Singleton Hospital Auxiliary and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Singleton Support Group.
