Singleton showjumping championships

A GREAT weekend was had by all at the recent Singleton pony club showjumping championships held on the 4th and 5th of August at Singleton showground.

Riders came from as far as Dural and Terry Hills in Sydney, Mudgee, The Mid North Coast, Armidale and across the Hunter Region to compete in all 5 Pony Club Grades for the Coveted Singleton Showjumping Championship award.

Young ten year old rider Sophia Carlon from Armidale riding her big grey showjumper was certainly a site to see jumping B grade fences with ease and is definitely a young rider with a big future in the sport of showjumping.

A big thank you to major sponsors Xstrata, for their generous support of this annual event which is now in it’s 23rd year.

Thank you to Teegan Hayward who was in attendance to assist with presentations after two great days of competition.

Singleton Pony Club is run by a handful of committed community minded parents and committee members, who do a fabulous job at keeping this long standing club going, without the generous support of the following great international and local companies these events would not be possible.

Thank you to Peabody mining, for supplying the funds for the purchase of new showjumping equipment, to Ranvet products for sponsoring the six bar competition, the Central Hotel for their generous donation and popular sausage sizzle, Baileys of Greta, Kirkwoods, HV Golden Edge Homes and major sponsor Xstrata all contributed to this year’s successful event.
