THE weekend of September 8 and 9 is always scheduled for the second of our major novelty field shoots to be held at the Warkworth Shooting Complex.
Saturday dawned as a clear day but with gusty westerlies played havoc with the clay targets.
Sixty-four shooters nominated coming from Quirindi, Sydney and all valley clubs.
The Saturday shoot of 100 targets was very generously sponsored by the Singleton Hunting Club and a big thank you is extended to them.
Shooting commenced at 9.30am and the results were:-
AA Grade: 1st Andrew Garvie 103/112; 2nd Matt Duncan 99/112; 3rd Frank Searles 85/100
A Grade: 1st Andrew Bell84/100;2nd Bruce Smith 78/100; 3rd Angus Duddy 87/112.

Sunday dawned as a beautiful spring morning with a light breeze and developed into quite a hot day. The shoot today was the Don Thrift Memorial shoot of 100 Targets and many thanks are extended to Christine Thrift for her continued generous sponsorship of the sashes.

At the presentations all winners were presented with great prizes and sashes, placegetters received nice prizes.
All commented that the layout was very competitive and it was a great shoot with good weather, good food and good company.
The usual big thank you goes to Anne, Chris, Shirley, Robyn and Kimberley in the kitchen, Julie and Kimberley in the office and Col, Geoff, Desmond and Lionel in the field filling the traps and keeping the clays flying.
The next shoot will be on Saturday and Sunday, October 13 and 14.
Saturday will be the Joel Poile Memorial of 100 Targets 5 stand and Sunday 2 championships will be decided - 50 target single barrel and 50 target point score.
