SINGLETON’S Ian Hedley has been awarded one of the highest innovation awards in Australia.
Mr Hedley was presented with the Warren Centre for Advanced Engineering Innovation Hero Award at Sydney’s Power House Museum last week.
He was one of three recipients in Australia to be recognised at the presentation.
The award is in recognition of Mr Hedley’s innovations during the past 31 years.
These innovations range from ground engaging tools, lighting towers, water carts, service trucks, wear plate systems, access systems and component handling equipment, all of which have been patented globally.
Mr Hedley was described during the presentation as very passionate about the product development side of his business and the challenge of developing solutions that people have deemed impossible.
In Mr Hedley’s acceptance speech he thanked his whole team at Hedweld for their dedication and support.
The Warren Centre is an independent, industry-linked institute committed to fostering innovation in advanced engineering throughout Australia.
