ORGANISERS of Singleton Show should be congratulated on holding yet another family fun-filled event.
The smiles on children’s faces and the bursts of laughter must go toward some of the reward for organisers.
Four people got a little more than the reward of smiles when they were presented with life membership by the membership of the Northern Agricultural Association.
Kevin Monkley, Peter Dunlop, David Williams and Colleen Moxey were quite emotional at the gesture, a little lost for words, yes even Colleen.
The show comes together because of thousands of hours of volunteer labour. The list of things that need to be done, pressure as the event draws near and the little mishaps that happen at the time add to the challenge of delivering this great event that has now had its 140th year.
These four people have continued to do what is necessary to present a quality show to the people of Singleton over a significant period of time.
Their honour is well deserved and presented with the greatest appreciation by those who have worked alongside them and those in the community who just rock up to celebrate a showcase of Singleton.
