On March 11, the special education pupil will get a fantastic cut and colour in order to raise funds for Leukaemia research.
Hoping to dye her hair purple and pink with a touch of red, Samantha is determined to raise $560 for the charity.
This is the estimated amount of one week’s worth of accommodation in the city for a regional family enduring treatment.
Having had a family member battle with leukaemia, Samantha’s decision to participate and raise funds for the charity is of great importance to her and both her family and school are undoubtedly proud.
The Student Representative Council (SRC) will also get on board to support Samantha, running a barbeque lunch on the day with all profits raised going towards her cause.
“Singleton High School supports many different charity appeals, however this has been Samantha’s own choice,” deputy principal Ian Skilton said.
“Samantha has a great moral conscience and she is a wonderful student who always wants to get involved and help out within the school community.”
This isn’t the only admirable achievement of the Year 9 student, having previously competed many times at a regional and state level for cross country.
Despite feeling a slight dose of nerves, Samantha is looking forward to getting her new look in support of such a great charity organisation.
If you would like to donate to Samantha’s appeal, contributions can be made at Singleton High School or you can find her profile on The World’s Greatest Shave website.
