The Branxton resident still enjoys a game with the organisation twice a week.
An enormous cake, a 90th birthday balloon and a bear signed by all members were presented to Grace with the club’s best wishes.
Members supplied numerous plates of goodies to turn the morning tea into a little party.
In other news, the club hosted its first Novice Competition for high handicappers and for players who had never entered a competition.
This was won by Patricia Ernst with Carmel Munzenberger runner-up.
Nine of the club’s members competed in the “Sweet Pea” tournament at Maitland with 10 games contested over three days.
The players in each division were well-matched and each win a hard-fought battle.
Branxton did quite well with a runner-up berth in a division.
The club has also started its division three pennants campaign with the first game played at Branxton against Maitland.
And, the hosts did very well.
The organisation wishes its treasurer, Maureen, a speedy recovery and hopes to see her back on the croquet lawns soon.
On Saturday, Branxton is celebrating World Croquet Day – and the members invite you to come and try croquet from 9am at the club.
Free tuition, equipment and morning tea will be provided.
All ages are welcome.
The club recommends you wear a hat and enclosed footwear.
