Lawn mowing, dog-walking or feeding, raking, house cleaning, car washing, window cleaning, tree planting or even putting garbage bins out are all ideal for the Scouts, who are very willing to help. The job could be small, ideal for a younger Scout, or a bigger task for an older child, or even one that requires a team of Scouts.
Although it’s called “Job Week” the Scouts have from 30 May to 27 June to raise money.
The children have even more incentive to work, with a new badge award to add to their collection if they reach their fundraising goal.
Scout groups meet throughout the week during school terms at 14 Edward Street, Singleton and new members are always welcome. Joeys (age 6 to 8) meet Mondays 5.30 to 6.30pm; Cubs (ages 8 to 11) meet Thursdays 6 - 7:30pm; Scouts (age 11-14) meet Wednesdays 6-8pm; and Venturers (age 14-18) meet Tuesdays 6.30 to 8pm.
If you would like a job done by Singleton Scouts, please call Job Week Singleton coordinator Meredith on 0409 774 280 or 6579 1400.
If you would like to come along to the Singleton Scouts, contact scouts.singleton@live.com.au or Group Leader Angela on 6572 3422 (after hours).
