Earlier in the month, the owner of Pit Patrol took part in the 3500km S##tbox Rally from Mackay to Hobart.
He joined the popular event as one of 10 support crews – and called it “a unique experience”.
Then, last week, Mr Phillips and wife Anita completed the half marathon section of the Great Wall of China Marathon.
Based two-and-a-half hours north of Bejing, the 17th annual event boasted 2428 competitors in 2016.
“It’s something we have wanted to do since we first saw it four years ago,” Mr Phillips said.
“It comprises 5km uphill, 4.5km along the Great Wall of China (thousands of steps) and approximately 11km out through local villages to finish the 21.2km half marathon.
“The full marathon then heads back up the ‘wall’ to complete the course in reverse.
“We ran together, rather than for personal best, for a time of two hours and eight minutes.
“That allowed me to place 24th male and Anita ninth female in our categories.
“We are now joining an organised tour to see the rest of China, before returning home on June 16.”
