Sacred Spaces at the Sisters of Mercy Convent is presenting another awe inspiring performance in the community room from 3pm August 14. The performance is called “All About Chopin’ and is a recital by concert pianist Mr Phillip Aughey.

The recital is to be performed on the grand piano, with Phillip playing a mixture of works by Frederic Chopin, including a Prelude, Nocturne, Mazurka and Etudes to showcase the different types of musical genres that Chopin worked in. He will intertwine the music with a talk about Chopin, his circumstances, life and music.
Phillip is also very generously donating the proceeds from this event to Singleton High School’s Special Education classes. Tickets are just $10 each and the concert will be followed by an afternoon tea provided by students at $5 per person.
Tickets will be available at the door however reservations would be appreciated for catering purposes (via the Sacred Spaces Office on 6572 2398, open Mon-Thurs).
If you haven't been to Sacred Spaces before, look for the beautiful Convent building set behind lovely gardens on Queen St, Singleton. Parking is also available on Queen Street. For those coming from the Newcastle region, Singleton is approximately 1 hour from the centre of Newcastle, via the Hunter Expressway.
Access to the concert venue is via the Convent's front pedestrian gate and a gravel path and floors of differing surfaces must be negotiated for those will special needs. Please let Sacred Spaces know if you have any access requirements and they will accommodate you as best as they can. Please note that the Convent does not have any wheelchair accessible toilets.
