The Tennis Australia Hot Shots initiative is a new modified competition for year 3 and 4 students.
At Howe Park on Thursday, ten teams with four players in each, competed to secure a spot in the state final.
Only the top teams will go on to play in Sydney at Homebush from November 8-9.
Tennis Australia participation leader ,Maurice Murphy says the competition was opened to all schools - not just those participating in the Hot Shots program.
“So far we have had forty plus zone days over the state,” he explains.
“The kids are loving it as previously there has not been much in this space for the younger students.”
These gala type days are usually focused on the year 5 and Year 6 students, Mr Murphy explains.
