The local organisation will host its 30th anniversary celebration and dinner at the Singleton Showground Pavilion, in Bathurst Street, on Saturday, October 29.
Publicity officer Dave Forsdike said the SCMC was looking forward to acknowledging the milestone.
“We intend to display numerous vintage and classic motorcycles owned by our members,” he said.
“It will be open for public viewing from noon until 3pm on the day.
“Ex-members and local residents are invited to attend the dinner at a cost of $30 per person.
“If interested, you can contact the club via our website at www.shannons.com.au/club/carclubs/singleton-classis-motorcycle-club-1/”
The Singleton Classic Motorcycle Club was established in 1987, incorporated in 1989, and is a not-for-profit organisation.
Over the past three decades, SCMC has donated tens of thousands of dollars to the Singleton community, according to Mr Forsdike.
“The general objectives of the club are to promote and encourage motorcycling, to cooperate with kindred bodies in the fostering and maintaining of motorcycling as a sport, to organise and conduct social outings and competitions, to inspire good fellowship among the 70-plus local members who restore, ride and maintain vintage and classic motorcycles, which are 30 years and older,” he said.
“And, importantly, to add to the community of Singleton any money raised at our annual rally, or throughout the year.
“This is donated to local charities and worthy causes in the district.”
Mr Forsdike said the club met on the first Thursday of every month (except January) at the Singleton Diggers York Street Complex from 7.30pm.
“Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings to learn more about the organisation or just to meet like-minded people,” he explained.
“If you have an interest in older motorcycles, or wish know more about the club, please contact us or simply come along and introduce yourself at one of the monthly meetings.
“Regular club rides are organised on weekends as well as on Wednesdays to cater for the number of shift workers located in the Hunter Valley.
“Rides are open to anyone interested in coming – and visitors are most welcome.”
