The joyous occasion was held at Club Singleton so for once the hardworking ladies could sit back an enjoy themselves.
They were served up a classic roast and apple pie or fruit salad for desert.
Former CWA state president, Margaret Roberts OAM, was the guest speaker, and Jack’s band entertained guests.
Surrounded by current branch members, life member Betty Irons cut the 90th Birthday cake.
And of course, the room broke out in song with a mandatory rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’.
The cake was made by Vicki Muddle and decorated by Margaret Vidler.
On each well-decorated table a booklet detailing the history of the branch was on display.
This was collated by Bronwyn Dunston and she says it took her about three months to put it together.
The Singleton CWA was born on October 9 1926, and first met in an old building next to the Courthouse - known as “Miss Upjohn’s” rooms.
Mrs W M Cameron was the first president and there must have been plenty to work to do because four vice-president’s are listed –Mrs W Loder, Mrs P Stacey, Mrs H McFadden and Mrs Kirkland.
