Since this time, SHS has held Tommy’s Day which is a celebration of Tom’s life and positive impact on the school as well as a great opportunity to raise awareness and funding for cancer research.
In a mammoth effort, Singleton High School has managed to raise an incredible $13,000 as a part of this year’s event.
At a formal assembly on October 26, SHS presented Cancer Council’s Pausha Prigent and Clint Ekert with the $13,000 cheque which will go to the Children’s Cancer Institute Australia.
Both Pausha and Clint said it was incredible that the school collective was able to raise so much for cancer research.
From head shaves to a petting zoo courtesy of Hunter Valley Zoo, this year’s Tommy’s Day was an outstanding event and SHS’s fundraising efforts will no doubt help many people battling cancer.
