Mr Renwick visited Singleton last year for the opening of the Community Recycling Centre and carefully scrutinized the precious belongings of local residents, giving them an insight into their history and their value.
He was excited to see what the community had then, and is again looking forward to seeing what comes out of the woodwork next Saturday.
“I can’t wait to see what people will bring in on the day,” Mr Renwick said.
Mr Renwick commenced his training at Rushton Fine Arts in 1986, and ended up the youngest Decorative Arts & Furniture manager in 1989 and licensed Chattel Auctioneer in the same year.
He has worked on some of the most significant collections, both private and institutional in Australia, from The National Gallery and the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, to the Department of Finance and the Premier’s Office and the Residence of the Governor of Victoria and is known as a true generalist, as his knowledge spans a variety of disciplines.
Singleton Council’s Manager of Water and Waste, Angelika Hesse, said last time Mr Renwick was in Singleton many people came in for their 15 minute appointment but then stayed around longer to listen to his comments.
“It really was a fascinating day,” she says.
Valuations are free to the public.
Only one item or grouping of items, such as a china set, will be valued during each appointment.

The Burragan Recycling Shop is located at Singleton Waste Management Facility, Dyrring Road, Singleton, with the official opening by Singleton Mayor Sue Moore at 11am.
The shop will then be open for trade for the first time from 12:30pm that day.
