As a part of the grant, the Branxton and Greta Fire Station has been presented with a significant new piece of equipment, a $195,000 bush fire and hazard reduction tanker.
Minister for Emergency Services, David Elliot presented the new tanker to the station on Tuesday November 22.
“When it comes to emergency services, you don’t get any more front line than standing face-to-face with fire and flooding,” Mr Elliot said.
“These grants are just one way the NSW Government can thank our emergency service workers for the important work they do.”
Michael Johnsen MP was also in attendance and said the region was extremely proud of its emergency services.
“Days like today provide us with the opportunity to give something back to our firefighters and volunteers who make the Upper Hunter the place it is.”
