Singleton all-rounders Isaac Barry, Tom Druery, and Beau Parnell have achieved further representative honours. The talented young cricketers have progressed from their respective Hunter Valley sides to the next level – Central North. This means Barry is set to play in Country Cricket NSW (CCNSW) U16’s competition the Bradman Cup. While, Parnell and Druery, will play alongside each other in the U14’s Kookaburra Cup. The current country zones are North Coastal, Central Northern, Western, Newcastle, Central Coast, Illawarra, Riverina and Southern districts. Last season the trio played in the NSW State Challenge in Dubbo as part of the Northern Razorback teams. Singleton rep cricket co-ordinator, Jason Barry says it is fantastic to see our juniors succeed and play cricket at this level.

All three players have worked very hard on their cricket over the past 12 months
- Jason Barry
“All three players have worked very hard on their cricket over the past 12 months including full training in the off season to make it at this level,” he says.
“The introduction of the off season Hunter Valley training academy by Barry Smith has been a great success and also a huge benefit to all players involved. They also attended the Central North NSW Country Cricket Academy in Tamworth.”
“I would like to wish Isaac, Beau and Tom all the best and know they will make Singleton cricket proud with their performances.” He says each of the boys have positive attitudes towards how they play the game both as individuals, and as a team.
When The Argus caught up with the trio, they were not to keen on taking time out from practicing in the nets. Parnell was delivering some rockets, Barry was still padded up, and Druery was patiently waiting to get back to perfecting his spin bowling.
They are all clearly focused on improving their games. All three of the boys would like to see just how far their talent can take them, even the word “career” was mentioned.
