This was the organisation’s first shoot as the newest members of the Sporting Shooters of Australia Association (SSAA) – and was an overwhelming success with 13 squads nominating.
Sixty-three marksmen and women from all Hunter Valley, Central Coast and Sydney clubs nominated.
And, just before shooting started, the official unveiling of the new SSAA sign – SSAA NSW executive director Diana Melham and membership manager Irena Sanda – took place.
The results were:
AA grade: 1st Andrew Garvie 98/100, 2nd Frank Searles 93/100
A grade: 1st Jeremy Teece 84/100, 2nd Graeme Roser 84/100
B grade: 1st Lionel Finlay 73/100, 2nd Jeff Garland 73/100
C grade: 1st Taylah Roth 64/100, 2nd Peter McGovern 56/100
At the presentations, all winners received cash prizes and commented on a great day’s shooting.
“A big thank you is extended to Jack and Lionel for the setting up of the course,” club secretary/treasurer Denis Pearce said.
“Anne, Tracy and Julie A served up a great lunch and afternoon tea, so a big thanks to them and also to Julie who ran the office very well.”
The next shoot – a 100 Targets Handicap Event – will be on Sunday, February 12, at 9.30am.
If you are interested in finding out more about the upcoming meeting or clay target shooting in general, the club welcomes newcomers.
Practice occurs every Wednesday from 10am until dark.
