Slideapalooza will be held at Calais Estate from January 27 to 29, but the associated music festival Slide N Sounds has been scrapped due to council regulations.
The organisers had locked in Will Sparks, the Delta Riggs and Alex Lahey to perform on the Saturday evening, but have since withdrawn their application for the music festival.
“Due to regulations that the council has in place it would have been impossible to host the entertainment event this time around,” Fun Events chief operating officer Brodie Wright said.
A council spokesperson said the issues were caused primarily by submitting an application without considering traffic and access management nor the time needed to assess and notify the community of the proposal.
Despite the setback, Mr Wright said preparations were nonetheless coming together nicely.
“We are on track to deliver the three days of sliding sessions and ticket sales are going well,” he said.
The festival will include three 400-metre waterslides on the rolling hills of Calais Estate, along with a 50-metre slide and a children’s obstacle course.
