Seven units – including NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews from Edinglassie, Darlington, McCullys Gap, Muscle Creek and Kayuga as well as members of Singleton and Muswellbrook Fire & Rescue – attended the blaze on Liddell Station Road from 10.10am.
“They managed to get the fire under control in one hour,” Hunter Valley NSW RFS duty officer John Cox said.
“It was short, sharp and sweet.
“It’s been contained and they are in the mop up stage.
“While everything is alright now, it did threaten AGL Macquarie assets.
“Police are also on the scene and the fire is being treated as suspicious.
“So, an investigation is set to follow.”
