With the support of the Rotary Club of Singleton and Singleton Library, the Singleton Writers Group are looking for writers aged from five to 25 to write a 500 word piece on the theme ‘My Dream’.
This can be purely fictional or it can be a more philosophical approach to whatever their dreams may be.
This inaugural writing competition has been launched to encourage the youth of Singleton to get involved in writing and literature.
There are four categories for the lucky winners, with some fantastic cash prizes to be won.
First prize for the five to seven years and eight to twelve years will be awarded $100 each. The winners of 13 to 17 years and 18 to 25 years will receive $150 each.
Entries with a name, address, phone and age can be sent to library@singleton.nsw.gov.au. Please put ‘Youth Writing Competition’ in the email subject line.
Entries for the Youth Writing Competition will close on April 22 and the winners will be announced and presented their prizes on May 6.
The Singleton Writers Group is a diverse group which meets on the first Saturday of every month to share their passion for writing.
