Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews on the ground will soon be joined by air support to control a bushfire at Carrowbrook north east of Singleton.

The fire located in inaccessible terrain just north of the intersection of Carrowbrook and Mount Royal roads was started by a lightning strike on Friday and has so far burnt out 100 hectares.
RFS have four units on the scene with another eight now responding as the fire is moving quickly in a south easterly direction.
Currently at ‘advice’ level the fire is creating a large amount of smoke.
RFS reports no properties are under threat at this stage.
