The fire is burning between Carrowbrook Road to the west and Paterson River to the east, Mount Royal National Park to the North and Middle Creek to the south, and has burned out 1800 hectares.
Last night the fire broke the southern containment line at Middle Creek however due to work of firefighters no properties are under threat.
It is believed lightning strikes in the area on Sunday ignited the blaze.
Back burning operations are being carried out where local conditions are suitable. So people in the area may notice an increase in fire activity and smoke as these operations continue.
No roads in the area are closed to traffic but please be aware of large numbers of fire fighting vehicles currently using the local roads.
Conditions over the next couple of day are expected to be favourable for the fire fighters.
Smoke from the area may be blown in a southerly direction.
