THROWBACK: 1955 Singleton flood
More than 60 years ago the Hunter Valley suffered its worst recorded flood. It started on Wednesday February 23, 1955 when heavy rain began falling in the Upper Hunter Valley. Days of torrential rain saw the Hunter River peak at 14.57m (47’ 7’’) on Thursday, February 24.
