And, one of the first establishments to put up its hand is Club Singleton, who hosted the inaugural Loving Locals community raffle on Sunday evening.
While delighted by the affiliation, chairperson April Young hopes it might spur others to join forces with the hard-working team, too.
“We’re thrilled Club Singleton has partnered with Singleton Relay For Life – and, for that, we thank them,” she said.
“It’s important, for us, businesses coming together to support this event.
“But, we’re trying to get more on board.
“We’re not asking for thousands of dollars.
“We just want their support when it counts – we’re also looking for sponsorship.
“Majestic Cinemas Singleton assisted us the other day with a special Girls Night Out screening of Beauty and The Beast.
“Every little bit helps.”
Ms Young admitted services, like Transport to Treatment, relied heavily on the Relay For Life committee’s fundraising ability.
“Travelling to and from medical appointments is difficult for many people affected by cancer – and can be costly,” she said.
“Cancer treatment usually occurs over an extended period of time and requires repeated attendance at facilities, which may be far from home.
“Radiotherapy, in particular, requires daily attendance for up to six weeks and a common side effect is fatigue.
"So, it's crucial that we continue to partner with businesses in the local area to help fund these very important services, through Relay For Life and other partnerships.
“We’re here fighting when others can’t.”
