The world record attempt will mark the official launch of the Singleton Festival, our area’s biennial celebration of all things food, wine, music and art with a packed program of events ranging from plein air painting to cheesemaking and blacksmithing demonstrations.
Many of the events are free.
The Singleton Crafters will lead the world record attempt on Sunday at Singleton Civic Centre.
Participants are asked to arrive at 10.20am.
The world record process will start at 10.30am and entry will be restricted at this time to meet strict Guinness World Record guidelines.
The attempt is expected to be complete at 11.35am.
A VIP crochet panel will consist of the Mayor of Singleton, Cr Sue Moore; Singleton Festival chairman, Cr Danny Thompson; Upper Hunter MP Michael Johnsen; Singleton Council general manager Jason Linnane; Upper Hunter Local Area Command Police Inspector Joanne Schultz; and other Emergency Services personnel.
The Hunter Strength Wars will also be taking place on John Street on Sunday, where the region’s strongest men and women will be attempting logic-defying feats of muscle madness from 8.30am to 1.30pm.
