The Rooster’s Black Diamond Plate side and the Women’s teams travel to Muswellbrook while the Reserves head to the coast where they meet Wyong.

Publicity officer, Richard Wilkes, suspects the Roosters experience will prove too much for the Muswellbrook Cats.

He explains the cats have been in a building phase after leaving the Tamworth competition and entering a side in the Black Diamond AFL second division last season (2016).

“This year the Cats have taken it to another level. They have entered the Black Diamond Plate competition and are fielding a Women’s side,” he explains.

However on Saturday, he is confident the Black Diamond Plate Roosters will show their class and continue their undefeated run into the season.

“The five time premiers (1985, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2016) have all the experience. Majority of the team are premiership players and on paper look to outclass the Cats here,” he says.

The Roosterettes are in their second season of the Women’s competition and coach Andrew McPherson has continued to expand the playing knowledge of the women.

Andrew is pleased with the development of his side, having been highly competitive in the opening games this season.

Wilkes says look for Kyah McBride returning from Swans Academy and utility players Tori Cowburn, Neisha Smith and Lynan Muldoon to lead the side.

The club is behind the Roosterettes’s to record their first win this weekend.

The Ressie Roosters continue to knock at the door for a win but so far have been unsuccessful.

The task of traveling to Wyong won’t do them any favours but they are confident they are up to the challenge.

“Dylan ‘Bull’ Hixon is in form for the Roosters up forward. Look for him to continue to score goals for the Roosters. Father son duo, Ethan and Peter Kolatchew continue to be in the Roosters best and will give them a winning hope on Saturday.” he says.
