The aim of the day is to create a fun, family friendly atmosphere where kids and parents can learn about the services that the Brigade provides to the community.
Event Coordinator, Cindy Paget said the Brigade has prepared a fun day with plenty of activities for the whole family.
“We have organised activities not just for the kids, but for the whole family to have fun,” Cindy said.
“There will be a jumping castle, merry-go-round, fairy floss and fire safety games for the kids as well as the opportunity to sit in a fire truck and use the hoses to knock down targets.
Families will also have the opportunity to challenge each other in simple fire fighting activities designed to teach basic fire fighting techniques using state of the art electronic safety equipment.
“We have also organised displays of specialised services that support the community such as Community First Response units that the brigade uses on a regular basis.”
Entry to the Bulga family fun day will be free of charge, while cold drinks and a sausage sizzle will be available for a small cost.
“This event is proudly supported by Bulga Coal,” Cindy said.
“Without their support, this free event would not be possible.”
The community event will be held from 10am to 2pm at the Bulga Rural Fire Brigade, 2116 Putty Rd Bulga on Saturday June 24.
