Established in 2011, the Singleton-based, family-owned operation is all about providing cost effective solutions. CPES specialises in used equipment, service exchange new and used parts, predominantly for the mining industry, with a nation-wide client list.
“Our focus is on quick turnaround,” company general manager Craig Tanzer said. “A common sense approach to the workshop process enables us to be nimble and dynamic.
A common sense approach to the workshop process enables us to be nimble and dynamic.
“If a customer has a breakdown on a Friday, we’ve got the resources and team willing to work through the night to get it up and running for them on Saturday. That’s what brings customers back for that next rebuild, and that’s what we mean when we say we’re ‘committed to quality, committed to you’.”
The company is in a period of rapid expansion having recently secured major contracts with Whitehaven (two-year services agreement) and THIESS (as preferred supplier in NSW).
“Customers are returning equipment to service that they have had parked up for a long time, which is creating great opportunities for businesses like ours,” Mr Tanzer said.
“Since 2011 the business has doubled revenue year on year, and we’re looking to add more quality people to our team.”
Employees at CPES enjoy great working culture and conditions in a new purpose-built facility at 1 Casswell Terrace, Maison Dieu, directly behind Toyota and Bunnings.
“That facility was built in 2016. It is a 2300 metres squared workshop flushed with a combination of overhead and swing cranes, has dedicated component assembly areas, state of the art hydraulic cylinder benches and a huge stock inventory,” Mr Tanzer said.
“We have eight acres of land in total which provides room for growth as workload permits. We’re planning on having council approval by year end to start the phase-two buildings.”
Finding good people to work at CPES is achievable, Mr Tanzer said, purely because of how the business is structured.
“We’ve got a good working environment and culture, excellent safety record, and the tooling and resources to get the job done effectively and efficiently,” Mr Tanzer said.
