Singleton Golf Club’s annual Ambrose Pairs Championship was played last Saturday. A new pairing of the Club’s low markers was successful with Chad Vesper and Matthew Dicks taking out the event with a 7 under par 62. Hot on their heels was Michael Kirkpatrick and Brad Kelly with a score of 63.
Mick Kirkpatrick and Brad Kelly showed the real advantage of their extra handicap by taking out first place in the nett event. Their nett score of 60.75 romped home ahead of Daniel Storey and Mark Forster who fired a nett of 61.5. Taking out third place was John Marcheff and Jonathan Charsley on 61.75.
The member’s day scheduled for Saturday, July 29 should be a great day. The $20 entry fee will get each player two schooners and lunch. There will be live entertainment from 4pm and a $200 draw at 6pm. There will be two shotgun starts; 7:30 and 12:15.
This Saturday’s tournament is an individual Stableford, and with the course continuing to be presented in tip top order, should attract a large field.
