In March, the 64-year-old packed up his camper van and embarked on a sole, self-funded fundraising venture that will see the self-taught classical guitarist perform in cities and towns across the country, including Singleton.

And, for the next three years he will repeat this scenario at an estimated 150 destinations.

That’s right with little more than his guitar, a few signs, a small speaker and a donation box, this compassionate man will rock up to local shopping centres, malls, or markets and busk.

However, unlike most street performers the money won’t line his pockets. Mr Mandel says 100% of all the money he collects will be donated to Lifeline. Since leaving Canberra and doing 53 performances he has raised $7336.55.

Along the way he has also heard many touching stories and of course, this is why he has chosen to undertake his inspirational journey.
