The experienced representative player wants the team to secure a birth in the grand-final at the upcoming National Youth Championships in Queensland.
A goal he feels is within their grasp after the expert coaching they received from Australian Open Mens player, Scott Buckley, during their 2016 campaign.
“He really improved us as individuals players, we won every game and made the top 4 but then we only ended up coming third,” he says.
Besides having an adept coach, Ellis also has confidence in his team mates.
“There are four or five of us here from last year and this year my cousin is in the team,” he says.
The 2017 Harvey Norman National Youth Championships (NYC) will be held at the Sunshine Coast Stadium, Bokarina from September 13-16.
Ellis says he is not nervous about taking to the national stage and justifiably so as his representative history dates back to his primary school days.
It also includes an appearance at the 2015 Pacific Schools Games, a spot in the All Australian Merit Squad, and a win in the State Cup competition.
