But unlike Matty J's season, racial diversity isn't the only thing making some people hot under the collar.
Some fans of Channel Ten's dating show are upset producers have selected people who are more than a decade younger than Monk with the average age of the male cast members just 30-years-old.
In April Monk, 37, told The Project she would ideally like to fall for someone in their 30s.

Of her 18 suitors, eight are under 30, the other ten contestants are all over 30 but just one is older than Monk at 38.
The wide age range was actually requested by Monk, who also asked producers to throw in a "silver fox" or two.

The criticism comes after sister program The Bachelor was slammed for having a mostly white cast. At the time, a Channel Ten spokeswoman said race isn't a factor when it comes to deciding who gets to star on the reality TV show.
Regardless of what the punters think, Monk has ended up falling for Mr Right.
"On the first night, I was standing at the red carpet going, 'What are you doing?'" she previously told Fairfax Media . "But I wanted to find love - and I have. This guy has my back, and for once I feel relaxed and safe. It's frickin' awesome."
A Channel Ten spokeswoman said Monk simply requested producers scour the country for "down-to-earth" men who would treat her well.
"A man's age, occupation and appearance have little bearing on the qualities and values he can offer as a romantic partner," she said. "Sophie has dated various types of men and has learned to never judge a book by its cover. With this in mind, Sophie begins her Bachelorette journey with an open mind and open heart."
