Tye Walker has been selected to play at the international competition but needs community support to get there

The Singleton community has well and truly got behind rising soccer star – Tye Walker –  in his quest to play at the prestigious Iber Cup in Spain next year.

From his barber and his school to many local businesses, the donations have been rolling in.

They have all been touched by the emerging jets passion when it comes to taking his place in the Jobe Wheelhouse coached side.

It truly is the opportunity of a lifetime.

TYE'S QUEST: He has the talent, he just needs some backing to get him to the Iber Cup.

TYE'S QUEST: He has the talent, he just needs some backing to get him to the Iber Cup.

And, although they have raised $3000 there is still a long way to go.

So the Imperial Hotel is also getting on board and will be hosting a family fun day this Sunday, October 15.

From 2 to 6 pm for just $5 entry, the whole family will be entertained.

There will be jumping castles, face-painting, a sausage sizzle, 100 club and raffles, just to name a few activities.

In just one season the talented centre-back went from being a late inclusion in his club side to gaining selection in the 2017 Under 9’s emerging jets squad.

Then after only attending two of the three trials conducted by the Jobe Wheelhouse Football Academy, he was selected in the Iber Cup side.

Tye also recently found out he has made the U10’s emerging jets team for 2018.
