A WOMAN who has been identified as Michelle Small and her son have been located in bushland in the Upper Hunter after they had not been seen for almost two weeks.

Her sister Karen Small contacted the Singleton Argus last week saying Michelle, who lived in Hunterview, last contacted her family on Monday, October 2.

Michelle aged 40 and her nine-year-old son, were found on Mount Royal Road within the Mount Royal National Park about 12.30pm on Thursday, October 12.

It’s believed the duo had been missing for 10 days after going on a bushwalk in the area on the Monday she had last contacted her family.

Police, SES, NSW Ambulance paramedics and National Parks and Wildlife conducted a large-scale search for the pair since their vehicle was found parked in the National Park on Monday, October 9.

Michelle and her son were taken to Singleton Hospital with dehydration and insect bites.
