The PCYC is hosting the event on Sunday, November 19 and it kicks off at 9am.
In a show of strength, over 30 competitors will be bench pressing, squatting and deadlifting their way through the day.
And, the PCYC will be putting on a barbecue to keep everyone well feed and ready to watch, lift and spot some heavy weights.
Powerlifting is where competitors attempt to lift as much weight as possible for one repetition in the squat, bench press, and deadlift.
Competitions are generally all-day events that begin with the squat, progress to the bench press, and conclude with the deadlift.
Every competitor is allowed three attempts at each lift, making for a total of nine competition lifts throughout the day. Three officials serve as judges and decide if lifts are good or bad.
