Starting at 8:00am Baileys Union Park in John Street will be the registration point for Singleton's clean-up.
"We are very pleased to have Singleton Council’s participation and we have already got the support of our Scouts which is great but this an open invitation to all community groups and individuals to join the cause and " she said. People can nominate specific areas to collect rubbish or Tidy Towns can direct them to a location on the day. "We encourage people to register at Baileys Union Park to sign in and collect rubbish bags and enjoy something to eat and drink before they head out to their area," Mrs MacBain said.
The rubbish bags can then be returned to Baileys Union Park at the completion of the clean up around 11am and they will be taken to the waste facility. Mrs MacBain was particularly delighted to hear from Middle Falbrook resident, Kirsten Hills, who is coordinating a local clean up with residents from that area.
"This is encouraging because it is taking the concept to our outer lying areas which need just as much attention as our town areas, anyone else wanting to coordinate projects within their rural locals is very welcome to do so," she said.
