In the U12 game Singleton won the toss and sent Maitland into bat.
The two Maitland openers batted very well with Jacob Page making 21 not out and Logan Smith 19 not out.
Singleton’s bowlers started off bowling some good lines but as the heat started to get to them so did the wides.
At the end of the first 20 overs Maitland was 0/69.
Singleton started off well with openers Jake Domek and Ethan Smith starting a nice partnership before Jake was caught for four in the eighth over which then seen the middle order collapse to be 7/25 off 15 overs.
Nell Gibson and Josh Shade had a mini recovery before Nell was caught.
Shortly after that Josh Shade was run out for 12. Singleton was all out for 45.
Some excellent bowling which included a hat trick from Maitland’s bowler Jacob Page who finished with 5/5 off four overs.
In the U14 Game Singleton won the toss and had a bat.
With some good bowling from Maitland, Singleton was put on the back foot early with the loss of the opener Travis Batch for one in the fourth over which then brought Tristian Muir to the crease.
It didn’t get any better for Singleton with the steady loss of wickets falling till Liam Dunn and Callum Cross came together at the crease.
The two boys started to put together a good little partnership before Liam was out for eight and the score now 7/46. Laura Avard was the next Singleton batter to join Callum at the crease but callum was bowled a short ball first ball after drinks and was caught for 22 (well batted Callum).
Singleton was all out for 65.
Maitland’s batters got the runs none down in the 15th over.
A Smerritt 49 not out and D Copoper 13 not out well done to the Maitland side.
I would like to wish all the kids and their families a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year.
