They recently presented a $750 cheque to each charity after conducting their regular Friday night raffles at the hotel.
Current president, Robert Hamson, says his Dad was a founding member, and since forming they have always donated to these charities.
“They were just a group of friends who liked fishing,” he explains.
The club’s original home was the Albion however about five years ago they moved to the Cali.
Today, they are still a casual and family-orientated club, who partake in four trips a year.
Robert says the first trip is usually to a freshwater fishing spot then the other three are at coastal locations.
“We don’t enter competitions,” he says.
They meet every second Sunday of the month at 1pm, and new members are always welcome.
Their Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for Sunday, February 26 at 1pm.
